Duncan Aviation begins work on US$70m Utah maintenance facility

Duncan Aviation has begun construction on a new US$70m business aircraft maintenance, modifications and paint complex in Provo, Utah, in the USA. The company will add nearly 275,000ft² of buildings, with a 222,000ft² maintenance and modifications center and a 53,000ft² paint facility.

Gulfstream Aerospace celebrates flight test program milestone

Gulfstream Aerospace has reflected on the first ten flight tests for the Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600 jets. The jets are twin-engine, with the G500 replacing the G450. The G500 has a range of 5,000 nautical miles (9,260km) at Mach 0.85, with nonstop flights connecting distant cities such as Istanbul to Cape Town, Los Angeles to London, and San Francisco to Tokyo. The G600 can fly 4,800 nautical miles (8,890km) at a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90, and seats up to 19 passengers, with room for nine to sleep.

London Oxford Airport welcomes first flight management company

Travion, a flight management company, has selected London Oxford Airport as its worldwide operations base – becoming the first operator of its kind at the location. The news comes following an announcement that London Oxford Airport finished 2016 as the sixth busiest London airport for business and general aviation, ahead of London City Airport.

With its new presence at the airport, Travion will handle the securing of slots and landing permits for inbound and outbound business aviation flights, as well as fuel and ground handling, sourcing discounted hotel accommodation, inflight catering, and concierge, transportation and security services.

Travion is the latest in a long line of new tenants joining London Oxford Airport since the start of the year. Others include Hullo Aircrew, a pilot app company; HeliGroup, which offers PPL training and Cabri G2 sales; and Cirrus Flight Training. The airport’s Oxfordjet FBO is in place to handle the majority of business aviation flights.

James Dillon-Godfray, head of business development, London Oxford Airport, said, “It’s an exciting time for Travion and we are delighted they have chosen our airport from which to operate. Their selection is a confirmation of the desirability of London Oxford Airport as a home for youthful and entrepreneurial businesses.”
