Duncan Aviation set to break ground on Utah MRO facility

US maintenance and overhaul (MRO) provider Duncan Aviation is preparing to start work on a 20,440m² (220,000ft²) facility in Provo, Utah, to cater for the growing demand for its engineering services.

The US$50m facility currently leases a hangar on the Provo Municipal Airport site. Provo complements Duncan’s other major service centers in Battle Creek, Michigan, and Lincoln, Nebraska, in addition to 30 satellite service shops across the USA.

Arjen Groeneveld, Duncan’s regional manager for Europe, Russia and the Middle East, said, “We will break ground on the new facility in the third quarter. When it opens in 2019, it will offer a full-suite of nose-to-tail support on Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer and Gulfstream business jets.”

Services will include avionics upgrades, aircraft refurbishment and light and heavy maintenance checks.

Despite the majority of Duncan’s facilities being US-based, international customers accounted for 20% of the company’s approximate US$500m turnover in 2016.
