ExecuJet introduces UAV services in Africa

ExecuJet is announcing the addition of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) services at its African facilities in Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa and Lagos, Nigeria.

UAVs, more commonly known as drones, will form an integral part of ExecuJet’s operations, enabling clients to carry out tasks such as inspections, surveys, mapping and photography in greater detail. ExecuJet will be soon be able to deploy UAVs to any location on the continent.

ExecuJet’s director of aviation for Africa, Gavin Kiggen, said, “The market for drone technology in the commercial sector has been increasing in recent years and is expected to grow at an rate of 19% between 2017 and 2020, as the technology becomes more widely utilized.

Researcher Dr Roelof revealed at a Drone Con conference in South Africa that the drone market is expected to create more than 24,000 jobs by the end of 2018: “Industry experts believe that Africa is one of the most progressive regions when it comes to drone technology.”

ExecuJet will be offering RPL drone pilot training to its existing pilots and staff to ensure they are fully able to safely and efficiently meet client requests.
