Jetex to develop and manage FBOs in Oman

Jetex Flight Support is to develop and run what it says will be the first-ever FBOs in Oman.

The FBO operator and trip planning support company is to develop two new terminals at Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport as part of the contract with the Oman Airports Management Company. Jetex will then operate and manage the two terminals for 10 years.

The FBOs will operate from the airports’ general aviation terminals and are expected to open soon, said Jetex.

The contract was announced ahead of the Dubai Airshow 2017. Jetex, which already operates an FBO terminal in Dubai, said the contract makes it the first and only provider of FBO services in Oman.

Sheikh Aimen Al Hosni, CEO of the Oman Airports Management Company, said, “Jetex was chosen based on strict criteria with regard to quality and commitment to hospitality and reception that we are aiming to provide at our new airports in Salalah and Muscat.

“We hope that this step will boost the level of VIP services at the new Muscat International Airport and at Salalah International Airport, which in turn will take us closer to our strategic goal in 2020 to become among the top 20 airports in the world.”

The commercial airports at Muscat and Salalah have a combined capacity to handle 22 million travelers per annum.

Adel Mardini, CEO of Jetex said, “We are delighted to be at the forefront of a new era for business aviation in Oman. We take great pride in the quality and expertise of our team, who strive to deliver best-in-class experiences at all times. Oman is a crucial market for us in the region, and marks another milestone in our growth.”

“Together with Oman Airports Management Company, we look forward to pursuing further opportunities to enhance the Omani business aviation experience. It is our goal to provide clients access to unparalleled levels of service and discretion throughout the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and beyond.”

Jetex provides aircraft fueling, ground handling and global trip planning for corporate, commercial and personal air travel.
