McKinney National Airport breaks ground on new US$16m FBO terminal

The city of McKinney has broken ground on the future home of the US$16m McKinney Air Center, a state-of-the-art fixed-base operator (FBO) terminal at the McKinney National Airport. The terminal will span 17,000ft2, in addition to a 40,000ft2 transient hangar. Read more on this story here.

Donegal ranked as world’s most stunning runway in 2018 Scenic Airport Poll

Private jet booking platform, PrivateFly, has revealed the results of its Scenic Airport Poll 2018, with Ireland’s Donegal Airport being ranked as the world’s most beautiful landing spot. The annual survey, which was conducted in February 2018, asked 8,500 travellers to name their top landing location. Other airports listed in the top ten include Barra in Scotland, Nice in France and Queenstown in New Zealand.

Buying club Convolus launches European FBO network

Buying club Convolus has launched its European FBO network as part of its members-only platform.

Convolus represents nearly 100 aircraft from operators across Europe, with the network offering members deals for handling services at airports with up to 30% of savings.

Designed to support small and medium-sized fleets operating in an industry of ever-growing competition, Convolus negotiates group pricing for its members. The platform allows suppliers to market to a significant number of aircraft at once, facilitating their outreach.

Irena Deville, co-founder and CEO, Convolus, said, “Convolus is committed to providing small and medium-sized operators in Europe with independent advice and the best buying deals. Counting so many well established suppliers among our partner base is testament to our vision and potential.”

The Convolus FBO network covers around 100 business aviation airports, with launch partners including Jet Aviation, Dassault Falcon Service and Air Hamburg Executive Handling.

Romain Papy, FBO general manager at Dassault Falcon Service (DFS), added, “Having been chosen by Convolus as their preferred FBO at a very competitive location such as Paris-Le Bourget proves DFS FBO commitment to extending Falcon top-class services to all types of aircraft.
