ExecuJet to open new MRO facility in Malaysia

ExecuJet signed a contract with Malaysian Airports at the Farnborough International Airshow to establish a new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility within Subang Airport, Malaysia.

ExecuJet is currently the largest MRO in Malaysia for business aircraft, operating in Subang Airport from an existing hangar and office facility measuring 64,000ft².

The upcoming development – known as Malaysia Airports’ Subang Airport Regeneration Initiative – is an exercise to revitalize the Subang Airport ecosystem and for it to become a hub for business aviation.

Graeme Duckworth, executive vice president, MRO, Luxaviation Group, said, “We selected Subang Airport as our Southeast Asia hub for all MRO activities due to its centralized location, high traffic and ease of doing business.

“The existing facility attracts clients from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia and China and by expanding our presence, we will be able to offer an even greater service to a larger number of clients.”

Azli Mohamed, chief strategy officer of Malaysia Airports, commented, “The Subang Airport Regeneration Initiative is an exciting endeavor and we are delighted to be able to increase ExecuJet’s MRO presence in the Southeast Asia region as a result.

“The development will enable the growth of business aviation activities, establishing a global hub that is vital for innovation and economic growth.”
