Sun Air Jets has announced that it has extended its hangar footprint at the Van Nuys Airport.
The company has secured two new hangar and terminal facilities located in the northwest corner of the airport, providing an additional 62,000 square feet of hangar space.
This addition will more than double the size of Sun Air Jetsβ presence at the Van Nuys Airport. The new facility offers private offices, lounges, conference meeting rooms, gated guest parking, and numerous other amenities necessary to meet todayβs evolving business aviation needs.
The facility also meets the stateβs strict environmental green build standards and will include a solar roof top system that will assist the Los Angeles World Airportsβ (LAWA) environmentally sustainable energy program.
Sun Air Jets was assisted in acquiring the space by the Aeroplex Group Partners, who secured the entitlements and managed the project development, and will oversee this new location, together with Sun Air Jetsβ existing hangars at Van Nuys.
Brian Counsil, Sun Air Jetsβ president and CEO, said, βThis collaborative relationship ensures adequate space for our managed aircraft customers at the City of Los Angelesβ world class and most desirable airport in Southern California for the foreseeable future. By managing over 100,000 square feet of Van Nuys hangar space on a long-term basis, Sun Air Jets can strategically manage its future business growth and offer customers a home for their aircraft that meets the highest standards of safety and luxury.β
βThis is a significant tactical and strategic milestone for Sun Air Jets,β said Curt Castagna, Aeroplex Groupβs managing partner “Itβs an amazing new facility, that brings new investment and jobs to the San Fernando Valley, and we are excited that our decision to commit to a long-term vision for airport development projects nationally has proven correct at Van Nuys Airport. Itβs a pleasure for us to work with an industry partner that is focused on the future value of business aviation while being so successful in the present.β
The additional hangar and terminal facility will be available for managed aircraft clients and tenants starting June 2021.
