The Registry of Aruba (TROA), a global one-stop aircraft registry for the business aviation sector, has announced the expansion of 4WARD into education, with a course at ERAU titled Future 4WARD – Intro. To Business Aviation, a global initiative to encourage more young people to pursue careers in business aviation.
Future 4WARD is a half-day, certificate-based education program focusing on four key areas of the industry: Strategy, Leadership, Brand, and Sustainability.
The program aims to give young people a deeper understanding of business aviation and access to in-person networking opportunities.
The first session of Future 4WARD which was delivered by TROA and Aegle Aviation, was successfully completed at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Asia in Singapore on 28 June 2022. A cohort of 30 students from ERAU Asia joined the program.
Future 4WARD builds on TROA’s existing support to ERAU which includes a scholarship open to girls who wish to pursue programs in aviation at Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach Campus. Under the program, TROA awards $6,000 to an incoming freshman every year throughout her program at The College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle.
Alexandria Colindres, chief executive officer at TROA said, “We need to protect the future of business aviation by inspiring more young people to pursue careers in the industry. Collectively, we must provide real-life opportunities for students and young people to gain insight, education, tools, and access to business aviation. We’re excited about the launch of Future 4WARD and we are honored to partner with and support Embry Riddle’s global community of students. Through 4WARD and Future 4WARD, we are committed to making a long-term contribution to invest in the sustainability of business aviation. We are grateful to Embry Riddle for supporting this important initiative and we’re excited about the global rollout and expansion of Future 4WARD.”
Greg Ng, co-founder of Aegle Aviation and chairman of the Singapore Association of Hong Kong said, “It’s time for the industry to get serious about inspiring more young people to join us. Through Future 4WARD, we have designed a curriculum that aims to achieve this goal. There is still a significant knowledge gap about career opportunities in business aviation and we hope to bridge this by providing education and support at a grassroots level.”
The 30 students joining the first Future 4WARD session in Singapore were presented with certificates of completion. Selected students were also invited to network with industry leaders at a TROA hosted cocktail event at Art Porters Gallery, Singapore.
Matthew Flaherty, vice chancellor at Embry Riddle University Asia said, “We are passionate about providing our students with access to the business aviation industry to support their future goals. It’s vitally important to us as a university to build strong, sustainable links with industry so that we can better equip our students for their next steps after graduation. ERAU was delighted to welcome TROA and Aegle Aviation to ERAU Asia and we look forward to our continued cooperation.”
