What inspired you to pursue a career in aviation, and how did your journey lead you to Sheltair?
My passion for aviation began as a child when my parents took me to an airshow at Brunswick Naval Air Station. Watching the Blue Angels perform, I was completely mesmerized, and from that moment on, I knew I wanted to become a military pilot.
Right after high school, I joined the U.S. Army as a Black Hawk crew chief, determined to achieve that dream. I was accepted into Warrant Officer Candidate School to train as a helicopter pilot, but an unfortunate incident left me medically unable to continue my military career. While it was a difficult setback, my passion for aviation never wavered.
I earned my private pilot’s license and enrolled in Daniel Webster College’s professional pilot program. Along the way, I transitioned to Aviation Management and interned at Jet Aviation, where I built a career over the next 17 years.
Eight years ago, I joined Sheltair, drawn to its strong, family-owned values and its commitment to both employees and customers. It was the perfect fit — combining my experience in aviation with a company that prioritizes relationships, integrity, and service. My journey here is still evolving, and I look forward to continuing to grow with Sheltair as we shape the future of business aviation.
What motivates you to continually raise the bar for Sheltair’s services, and what do you hope customers take away from their experiences?
My team is my greatest source of motivation. Their professionalism, dedication, and genuine care for both our customers and each other set the standard for excellence every day. Seeing their commitment to delivering top-tier service inspires me to push even further, ensuring Sheltair remains a leader in the industry.
But exceptional service goes beyond operational excellence — it’s about making every customer feel valued. Whether it’s their first visit or their hundredth, I want them to walk away knowing that Sheltair is more than just an FBO; it’s a place where they are appreciated, where every detail is thoughtfully handled, and where they are always treated like family.
How do you see the role of technology shaping the future of FBO services and operations at Sheltair?
Technology is playing an increasingly vital role in shaping the future of FBO services, enhancing efficiency, customer experience, and sustainability. Real-time aircraft tracking is streamlining operations, reducing turnaround times, and optimizing resource allocation. Automated fuel management and predictive maintenance improve safety and cost-effectiveness, while integrated mobile apps create seamless communication and concierge services for customers.
Beyond operational advancements, Sheltair is committed to embracing sustainable technologies, such as electric ground support equipment, aligning with the aviation industry’s push toward greener initiatives. By continuously evolving and integrating innovation, Sheltair will not only maintain its reputation for excellence but also adapt to the changing demands of business aviation—delivering the highest level of service with a forward-thinking approach.
How do you incorporate Sheltair’s family-owned and community-focused values into your leadership?
At Sheltair, our family-first culture is more than just a core value—it’s a way of doing business. I incorporate these principles into my leadership by fostering a workplace rooted in personal connection, integrity, and service excellence. By leading by example, I strive to ensure that employees feel valued and empowered, reinforcing a work environment where both our team and our customers are treated like family.
Beyond the walls of our FBO, Sheltair’s deep commitment to the community is something I take to heart. Building strong relationships with local organizations and actively giving back is a reflection of who we are. We’re not just an aviation provider; we’re a trusted partner in the communities we serve, and that dedication to people—both within and beyond our organization—is what sets Sheltair apart.
