BBA Aviation has named two new non-executive directors, both of which joined its board on January 1, 2018.
Amee Chande has international experience living and working in North America and Asia and, after starting her career with management consultant company McKinsey, worked for large retailers including Tesco, Staples and Wal-Mart where she gained brand development skills. Since 2015, Chande has worked for Alibaba and is currently managing director of global strategy and operations, based in London, UK.
Emma Gilthorpe is the second appointee, and brings extensive aviation experience from her various roles at Heathrow Airport Holdings – formerly BAA – where she is currently executive director for expansion. Her 20 years spent at Cable and Wireless and BT contributes to expertise in policy and regulation. Gilthorpe is currently a non-executive director at South East Water.
Chande and Gilthorpe will sit on the audit and risk, remuneration and nomination committees. BBA Aviation has also announced that Peter Ratcliffe will step down from the board at its annual general meeting on May 11, 2018, after joining in 2009.
Nigel Rudd, BBA Aviation chairman, commented, “I am delighted to welcome Emma and Amee to the board of BBA Aviation. They both bring highly relevant experience for the next stage in the Group’s development. In addition, I would like to thank Peter for his valuable contribution to the board over the past nine years; a period of significant change for BBA Aviation.”
