MRO company Stevens Aerospace is to relocate its Nashville operation to Smyrna Airport, Tennessee.
The new base, which is around 12 miles from its current location and still only minutes to downtown Nashville, the Stevens hangar will be part of the Hollingshead Aviation FBO campus.
The move is being made because of “consistent business growth” said the company. Constructed in 1938, the current BNA hangar has been home to Stevens’ Nashville operation since 1989.
Stevens is beginning to input work into the Smyrna location from this week. The company expects to be completely transitioned out of the BNA facility by June 30th.
According to Stevens Aerospace president Christian Sasfai, the overall growth of general aviation at BNA has limited Stevens’ current and future options to expand. He said, “The Smyrna Airport offers ample room for growth and easy access to the attractions around downtown Nashville, as well as an airport leadership team that encourages and understands business.”
Stevens BNA general manager Kenyon Blacker said, “The BNA facility has served us well. But as business has continued to expand, we simply don’t have the floorspace to efficiently meet demand. This move will give us more room and offers our customers easy access to our operation.”
