Jet Agent founder and managing director, Anatoly Parkhomchuk, created the London-based aircraft sales, management and charter company in 2019 during the pandemic. Here he discusses his big plans for the future and gives advice for someone looking to start in the industry.
What was your career path to your current role?
I grew up on an Air Base. I worked at Jet Republic as a business development director for a short period, then as the Ocean Sky private jet company business development manager, before becoming the regional sales director at Hawker Beechcraft corporation.
Can you describe a typical day?
I’m always working, day and night due to global aviation’s geographic nature, and always will pick up a call 24/7 and 7 days a week.
What has been the proudest achievement in your career so far?
Building my own business on my own terms and every completed complex transaction is my proudest achievement.
What is the most significant trend currently affecting the business aviation sector?
The Covid-19 anomaly and manmade geopolitical turmoil that set around the globe are the only heavy factors that affected most of the areas of business aviation sectors, so the industry had a few unpleasant shifts for some time.
What advice would you give to someone interested in a career in business aviation?
Finding your passion in the business aviation sector is the first step towards pursuing a career in this field. Get the skills and knowledge you need, establish a solid network, and acquire real-world experience through internships or entry-level jobs.
Keep up with changes in the industry and don’t hesitate to adjust to new opportunities. Success in this fast-paced business requires perseverance, devotion, and the pursuit of mentorship. In the end, pursuing your passion and being happy with what you do will add additional fulfilment to your business aviation career.
What does the future hold for Jet Agent?
The plan for the future of Jet Agent is to grow the aircraft sales division and move forward with a presence in the North American market.
