MixJet’s CEO discusses his proudest achievements and how his team stays ahead of competitors
What was your career path to your current role?
I started my career in most basic positions eventually reaching the role of commercial manager at Hadid International Services. I founded my first company, Unique Jet, in 2006 in partnership with a financier. Later, I decided to venture out on my own and established MixJet in 2009. Through continuous development and the addition of outstanding staff, the company has reached a high level of success and growth.
What are the best and less favorable elements of your job?
I love the diversity and the extensive relationships in my work. It’s always changing which means I never get bored. The downside is the high pressure because working in the aviation sector requires great focus and there’s no time for rest and relaxation.
Can you describe a typical day?
My typical workday has changed from the early years before establishing my company. I used to start my day very early, work until late, and follow up on everything down to the smallest details to establish myself in the market and manage the internal affairs of the company excellently to avoid any future mistakes. Now, I go to my office around 10 AM and work until 6 PM, holding some meetings with managers to understand how work is progressing. However, most of my time is spent developing future strategies for the company.
What has been the proudest achievement in your career so far?
I’m proud that my company’s name has become well-known in the aviation world and that it has become a leading company in the aircraft servicing industry, having won several prestigious global awards. I’m also proud of establishing the International Aviation Services Organization (IASO), which has
been recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
How do you stand out from your competitors?
Excellence is always about the quality of service provided and MixJet has strived since its inception to work on this principle of service quality. As long as we fulfil our customers’ desires optimally and gain their complete satisfaction, we are not afraid of competitors and remain far ahead of them.
What is the most significant trend currently affecting the business aviation sector?
Several factors affect the business aviation sector, both positive and negative. Speaking of the negatives, the first is the rise in aircraft fuel prices, which significantly increases flying costs. Another factor is political and security disturbances, including wars and conflicts. On the positive side, the emergence of active and promising economic centers contributes to increasing the number of flights to and from them.
What advice would you give to someone interested in a career in business aviation?
You need to have the desire and passion for private aviation and then develop knowledge in the field through courses, seminars, meetings, and other networking opportunities.
What does the future hold for MixJet?
We plan to expand into new markets and new products that we are working on, which will allow us to benefit from our extensive experience and strong relationships in creating a new private flying experience with our fleet, blending luxury with exceptional and cost-effective service.
