Cornwall Air Ambulance has received support from aircraft leasing and financing services company Novus Aviation Capital to help bring a new air ambulance helicopter to the county in the southwest of the UK.
Novus Aviation Capital has given a significant donation to the New Heli Appeal, which seeks to bring a medically advanced Augusta Westland 169 (AW169) helicopter to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by April 2020.
The company operates globally out of five offices in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and deals with more than 40 airlines in over 30 countries.
Mounir Kuzbari, managing director of Novus Aviation Capital, said, “Aviation being in our DNA, it was only natural for us to support the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust for their needed acquisition of a new AW169, which we hope will bring faster and better emergency response to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.”
The charity hopes to raise Β£2.5m (US$3.2m) to help fund the AW169.
Debbie Henshaw, Cornwall Air Ambulance fundraising manager, philanthropy, commented, “We are delighted to receive this fantastic support from Novus Aviation Capital. We are overwhelmed to have them join the New Heli Appeal, helping us to support the people of and visiting Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly as we strive to raise funds for a new helicopter for the future generations.
“Their support will help to save more time and more lives and we hope it will inspire others to get involved in the appeal.”
