European private jet charter GlobeAir has entered a strategic partnership with London City Airport to attract more business aircraft to the airport.
London City Airport’s private jet center is the only one of its kind situated within the city, making it a key destination for passengers flying for business. Its new Business Lounge offers a premium customer experience for all passengers for Β£35 per person.
The airport claims it takes just 90 seconds to alight from an aircraft, go through customs and leave the site. Those flying from London City have a similar experience passing through security and boarding their flight.
With GlobeAir’s fleet of Citation Mustang jets, the company is able to connect to more than 1,500 airports around Europe and North Africa, including those with short runways that are not accessible to commercial airlines.
Bernhard Fragner, CEO of GlobeAir, said, “London is our second-biggest market and it’s growing rapidly. In 2016, we operated 492 departures from London-based airports and the corresponding figure for 2015 is 368, which shows an increase of 34%.
“By offering our clients the opportunity to use London City Airport, we expect to see further significant growth in our London-based business.”
New research from GlobeAir reveals that there were over 3,700 business aircraft flights into and out of London’s major airports in March 2017, which was 11% more than the previous year. In Q1 this year, there were over 10,000 flights, representing a 9.3% increase on Q1 in 2016.
Nick Rose, director of business aviation at London City Airport, added, “We have ambitious growth plans and a key part of this is to attract more business aircraft. We offer business travelers unparalleled access to London and unbeatable convenience and speed.
“GlobeAir is one of the biggest business aviation operators in Europe and we are delighted that they will now be offering clients the opportunity to land and depart from our airport.”
