Aircraft management business AXIS Aviation has gained an Aircraft Operator’s Certificate (AOC) in San Marino, marking its third AOC after Switzerland and Austria.
AXIS Aviation selected the San Marino registry due to its international standards of safety, reliability and efficiency.
Becoming certified will enable AXIS Aviation to streamline operations, meet new demand for aviation solutions, and offer a well-connected location in Central Europe with a favourable business landscape and reputation for regulatory compliance.
The aviation business has already placed its first aircraft on the San Marino registry, after implementing all aviation protocols to introduce new aircraft into service. It has assembled a team on the ground in San Marino and will also continue to work with its existing teams in Switzerland and Austria.
Niall Olver, chairman, AXIS Aviation said, “Joining the San Marino registry is a strategic decision that ensures we build on our exciting growth trajectory, offering regulatory compliance, market access, global recognition and opportunities for expansion.
“Drawing on client feedback and our own market research, we’ve identified a growing desire for increased options when it comes to charter, aircraft management, and other aviation-related services. By obtaining an AOC in San Marino, we can meet this demand effectively while also positioning ourselves for sustainable growth.”
The San Marino registry is fully audited by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), receiving an ICAO president’s certificate in 2016.
