Bombardier has completed the installation of more than 3,000 PV solar panels to the roof of its London Biggin Hill Service Centre.
This significant investment will generate more than 1.133 million kWh, providing up to 32% of the service centre’s total energy demand from an on-site renewable source, lowering annual carbon emissions by up to 252 tonnes.
Robert Walters, commercial director at London Biggin Hill Airport said, “This is a remarkable achievement by Bombardier which makes a significant contribution towards our wider airport sustainability initiatives. Our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2029. With the support of our resident businesses, we’re developing a new airport model that prioritises responsible environmental practices.
“This project, which will significantly enhance energy efficiency, showcases Bombardier’s shared dedication to sustainability.
