FBO B Coleman Aviation has completed the construction of a 3,716m² (40,000ft²) hangar at Gary/Chicago International Airport, increasing its footprint at the hub to 8,825m² (95,000ft²).
The new hangar has a 28ft (8.5m) door and can house four large-cabin aircraft, along with eight midsize to small-body aircraft. It will significantly boost the capacity for transient customers visiting the Chicago area and offer short-term and long-term lease options.
John Girzadas, president of B Coleman Aviation, commented, “The hangar was built to meet the growing demand in the region for business aviation services, particularly as the hangar options continue to dwindle at nearby Midway airport. Once customers experience the convenience and economic advantages of the Gary/Chicago airport, we anticipate our customer base will continue to grow considerably.”
B Coleman Aviation has further expansion plans for up to four more hangars, including build to suit options for private aircraft owners and corporate flight departments. The available land is located on the north and east sides of the B Coleman facility.
