Aviation property development firm Centrex has been commissioned to build the first private hangar complex, which is called CloudNine, at Camarillo Airport in California.
Centrex plans to break ground on CloudNine in late 2019. Upon completion, which is pencilled for late 2020, the company will deliver four private hangars, each spanning 25,000 square feet (2,320 square meters) with an attached office.
Each hangar will feature attached garages, energy-efficient LED lighting, commercial grade kitchen, and an executive office and lounge with attached private bathroom and walk-in closets. Private lounges, white epoxy floors, flight department offices and fitness rooms will also feature.
Ron Rasak, CEO of RKR, the commercial real estate company that has selected Centrex to develop the hangar complex, said, “There is only a handful of specialist aviation development firms in the country and Centrex is the clear leader in their field. We also strongly believe there’s a certain qualitative value that Centrex brings to the project as both pilots and operators of business aircraft themselves.”
Jimmy Severson, president at Centrex, said, “The CloudNine concept itself is as exciting as the opportunity to bring it to fruition.
“Ron’s luxury private hangar campus is an example of the ‘right business model at the right time’ for the industry. We’re honored to build the first CloudNine and look forward to making Ron’s vision a reality in Camarillo and beyond.”
