Just 18 months after opening a full service FBO at Belfast International Airport in Northern Ireland, Global Trek Aviation has been given permission to expand. Opening in mid-2015, with an experienced team, the facility has so far been a success.
Details on how the company intends to develop the FBO site so far remain under wraps, although a doubling of the floor space and expansion of the existing facilities seems likely. At present, the FBO offers a spacious VIP lounge, crew center, showers, and an operations control center next to the general aviation ramp, with a secure entrance and car park away from the commercial terminal.
David McColm, Global Trek managing director, said, “Our facility has been getting busier by the month and we have taken the decision to plan for future growth at an early stage. Doubling the floor space will allow us to provide even greater comfort for our clients, put in additional amenities and expand our operations control center to keep up with customer demand.”
Brian Carlin, Belfast International Airport director of commercial development, added, “Global Trek has shown the depth of its industry experience and commitment by hitting the ground running, delivering a first-class experience to its clients and investing in infrastructure, GSE and personnel training from the very start.”
