Hawthorne Global Aviation Services has started construction on a new 31,800ft2 (2,950m2) corporate hangar and office facility at Long Island MacArthur Airport (KISP), which is expected to open in December 2019.
This project increases Hawthorne’s total leasable space for business and corporate aircraft operators to over 100,000ft2 (9,290m2).
Hawthorne operates a full service FBO and FAA Part 145 Repair Station, in addition to being an aircraft charter and management business through their sister company, ExcelAire.
Bryon Burbage, president and CEO of Hawthorne, said, “We are continuing our partnership with MacArthur Airport and the town of Islip by expanding our facilities. Since we acquired this location six years ago, we have outgrown our space and need to expand to be able to accommodate all of our customers. This will allow us to maintain the exceptional service that our customers have come to expect.”
The new hangar and office facility will include convenient amenities including concierge services such as lodging, catering and ground transportation; courtesy shuttle, crew and rental car availability; a passenger and pilot lounge; and US Customs Services, with pre-notice required.
