Bahamas FBO Odyssey Aviation has completed construction of a new 25,000ft² (2,322m²) aircraft hangar at Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA).
The hangar was constructed by BHM Construction and Island Industries (Bahamas). The hangar features a 28ft-high (8.5m) hangar door, creating a wide and open interior hangar space to accommodate client aircraft. There is also 3,000ft² (914m²) of office space available to hangar tenants, and Odyssey has added three acres of 12in reinforced concrete aircraft parking apron.
Steven Kelly, CEO at Odyssey Aviation, said, “Business is booming in the Bahamas and at all our Odyssey Aviation locations, also this trend is predicted to continue. The new hangar is already fully occupied with long-term tenants. Each office has its own entrance, is 100% private, with CCTV and extensive security measures in place throughout.
“We have always strived to ensure a quality customer experience and we are constantly focused on training, we want all our guests to feel safe, secure and leave the Bahamas with a positive experience.”
The new addition is Odyssey’s second hangar and increases the total hangar space to 50,000ft² (15,240m²). Both hangars will handle aircraft up to and including a Gulfstream G650. The added space will create room to park 10 to 15 more aircraft.
The US$5.75m development brings the total occupied footprint to more than 26.5 acres, which is the largest footprint of any FBO at LPIA. Odyssey Aviation Nassau has the only fully private property on the field and handles the largest percentage of general aviation traffic.
