Sonoma Jet Center, one of two aviation services providers at Charles M Schulz – Sonoma County Airport in Northern California, has finished work on a new 21,000ft² hangar. The project, which cost US$4m, includes a fully-equipped gym and shower, meeting and office spaces, and lounge areas.
The new facility is also big enough to incorporate large corporate jets, including the Bombardier Global Express and Gulfstream 650, and is next to the existing Sonoma Jet Center services and fueling. It also has direct roadside entry and a gate to accommodate rampside vehicle access.
Hangar space is said to be in demand in the San Francisco Bay Area, in particular that which is located away from the busier, more expensive airports in the vicinity, Sonoma Jet officials said. The airport itself has recently completed a runway configuration, making it safer and more desirable for business aircraft.
Josh Hochberg, president of Sonoma Jet Center, said, “Many business jet clients who appreciate our high quality service have asked for more hangar space with us. So building a new corporate hangar was simply the next logical step in expanding the range of services we can offer. We plan additional hangar development in the years to come.”
