APP Jet Center’s major expansion and renovation of its FBO at Hayward Executive Airport in the San Francisco Bay area, California, is now open.
The FBO operator has been based at the airport since 2009, with premises at three other US locations. A reception was held at the revamped facility at Hayward Executive to mark the occasion, attended by Kelly McAdoo, city manager, and Douglas McNeeley, airport director.
The plan with the US$5m FBO project has always been to alleviate hangar overcrowding and better serve APP Jet Center’s growing client base. It includes the construction of a new 20,000ft² hangar, with 28ft tall doors, which increases the company’s capacity at Hayward Executive to 86,000ft² – it is already 75% leased, with most of the tenants operating large aircraft.
There is also a new 3,000ft² FBO passenger terminal with snooze rooms, showers and other facilities, with the original 12,000ft² facility fully renovated. A new open ramp has also been included.
Thom Harrow, CEO of APP Properties Inc., said, “This is a bold achievement for APP. We are increasing our aircraft storage and client services while developing the most distinguished facility at Hayward Executive Airport. We have planned this for many years and are very excited for our clients to share our enjoyment of this upscale, modern property.”
Tom Panico, general manager of APP Jet Center Hayward, added, “It’s an honor to offer this top-notch facility to our loyal clients and to our growing list of new clients as well.”
