Marathon Aviation has broken ground on a new FBO and hangar complex at the Florida Keys, USA.
Foundation work has started, and construction will continue throughout the rest of 2019 with an anticipated opening in early 2020.
Plans for the FBO include an Ernest Hemingway inspired FBO facility with relaxation and recreation areas, and outdoor viewing decks. The new hangar, with 28ft doors, is located for easy taxiway, runway, and highway access.
Construction is being led by AMH Construction, an Orlando, Florida-based construction firm, while the FBO was designed by Becci Meier Designs.
“This week we officially begin construction on a new, iconic FBO to serve as a launch pad for US Customs and complement the region’s tourism, five-star resorts, and world-renowned fishing industry. Our investment in this venture reflects our deep, long-term commitment to this local community, its economy, and our customers. Whether guests are staying to indulge or only here for an overnight, it’s our mission to provide a fully immersive, luxury Middle Keys Experience. This new facility will help us accomplish that,” said Marathon Aviation’s owner Marty Hiller.
