Jet Aviation has celebrated the opening of its new FBO at Hanscom Field Airport at Boston/Bedford with a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by the location’s first customer.
The two-story, 12,000ft² (1,114m²) facility opened for business officially after Bob Braceland, director, Executive Aircraft Operations at Raytheon, cut the ribbon, serving as the ceremonial first customer. The opening was followed by a catered lunch for Jet Aviation’s tenants, customers and staff at the FBO.
The FBO opening followed a grand opening event in June for the adjacent new 40,000ft² (3,716m²) hangar. The FBO features two customer lounge areas, two pilot shower rooms, a snooze room, a pilots’ lounge with two privacy rooms, and two conference rooms with full video-conferencing capabilities. Now that the FBO team is occupying the new space, the old FBO building will be offered for lease.
John Langevin, vice president of Jet Aviation FBO Operations in North America, said, “Opening this state-of-the-art facility is a big step into the future of premium service for our customers and the community.
“We’re proud to complete this building that was designed and built to improve safety and efficiency, as well as be more protective of the environment by meeting the standards of the United States Green Building Council.
“The expanded FBO at Boston/Bedford is among many recent and upcoming improvements to Jet Aviation’s global FBO network. The new FBO at Washington Dulles International Airport opened in April and the newly-branded Jet Aviation San Juan FBO at Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico opened in July.”
