Stobart Aviation, part of the Stobart Group, has officially launched a new executive jet fixed based operator (FBO) at London Southend Airport. The Stobart Jet Centre is expected to cater for 5,000 flights per year by 2022.
The FBO will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It offers a VIP lounge with catering, refreshments and business services, a private crew lounge with a TV and computer facilities, on-site immigration and customs, with pre-clearance available to qualifying passengers, and no slot restrictions.
On January 18, senior management hosted a launch party for 100 VIP industry guests at the new FBO, who were given an exclusive tour of the facilities. The event also featured a performance by Boyzone lead singer Ronan Keating.

Stobart Group has invested more than £160m (US$222m) in London Southend since 2008. The terminal enables passengers to get from plane to train or vice versa in less than 15 minutes. The airport serves more than 30 domestic and European routes.
