Fort Lauderdale-based W Aviation has expanded its FBO network with a new facility in Oranjestad, Aruba. W Aviation Aruba, located at Queen Beatrix International Airport (TNCA), started operation on January 1 as the sole FBO at the hub.
The FBO will undergo a US$1.8m interior refurbishment and major improvement, which is to include a state-of-the-art passenger lobby, customer service area, bistro bar, VIP passenger lounges, executive conference rooms, pilots lounge, flight planning room and more. The property currently includes a 4,000ft² (371m²) executive terminal and ramp space.
Ignacio Martinez, W Aviation’s CEO, said, “We are thrilled to announce our newest facility in Aruba and the continued expansion of our FBO network. This is a milestone for our Company, as it not only gives us the opportunity to support our existing global charter fleet in the Caribbean but also allows for us to handle all of the GA traffic on the island.
“Aruba is the only non-US Caribbean Island with US Pre-Clearance Customs, making it an ideal stop for aircraft traffic from South America and the Caribbean destined for the United States.”
W Aviation Aruba operates as a full-service FBO, offering fuelling, handling, ancillary services, customer service, concierge, aircraft parking, customs support and ground handling. The hours of operations will be 9am-9pm.
