Coleman Jet, the aircraft management and private air charter division of B Coleman Aviation, has installed the new Gogo Avance L5 wi-fi on its Gulfstream IV jet. As one of the first recipients of the connected network, this first-of-a-kind installation offers service more than three times faster than its existing air-to-ground system.
Gogo Avance combines Gogo’s advanced hardware and software technology to create a fully integrated, aviation-grade inflight connectivity and entertainment platform. The Gogo Avance L5 connects to the Gogo Biz 4G network, offering passengers faster speeds onboard for streaming audio and video, on-demand movies, smartphone use, email exchange, plus additional advantages in the cockpit for remote diagnostics and real-time data.
James Stedman, B Coleman Aviation’s director of technical services, said, “On the aircraft’s functional evaluation flight, we tried to load the system down with multiple users operating several devices each. The system impressed us with seamless operation.”
Ed Fares, director of operations for Coleman Jet, added, “We are thrilled that our strong relationship with Gogo propelled this project to completion and I believe all involved are extremely satisfied with the outcome. The ability to offer this aircraft to the charter market with an inflight wi-fi experience like none other is extraordinary. We are thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking technology.”
B Coleman Aviation completed the installation of the Avance L5 system on the Gulfstream IV and is accepting orders to install the system on multiple airframe makes and models.
