MedAire, a leading aviation industry medical and security partner, accepted the National Aeronautical Association (NAA) Henderson Trophy in Las Vegas during the National Business Aviation Association annual Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).
Honored for its groundbreaking medical and security assistance solutions, MedAire was the first to provide live emergency call assistance (MedLink) directly to medical experts from the cockpit.
Today, nearly 40 years later, MedAireβs medical, logistics, and safety professionals handle hundreds of thousands of calls annually worldwide, providing expert medical advice and assistance through dedicated call centers. Their accumulated experience directly informs the content and delivery of educational programs in addition to medical kits for aviation and maritime clients.
“We are deeply honored to receive the prestigious Clifford Henderson Trophy and thank Amy Spowart, NAA President and CEO for this award,” said Bill Dolny, CEO of MedAire. “MedAire’s founder, Joan Sullivan-Garrett, pioneered in-flight medical response solutions, the development of MedLink, and advanced medical kits on board thousands of aircraft. We continue to build upon her legacy, striving to elevate safety and health standards for travelers worldwide.”
“MedAire is the embodiment of the criteria of the Henderson Trophy,” said Amy Spowart, NAA president and CEO. “Having witnessed the passion of founder Joan Sullivan-Garrett, skill of CEO Bill Dolny, and the growing global impact of the organization, recognizing MedAire for their significant and lasting contribution to advancement of aviation in the United States is a clear choice for the 2024 Henderson Trophy. It’s our honor to celebrate the millions of lives saved by MedAire and ensure that all who see the trophy at Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum are moved by what MedAire has accomplished.”
