Private jet management company 51 North, based at Farnborough Airport, has announced its acquisition of long-established management and charter operator Executive Aviation Services (EAS), based at Gloucestershire Airport. The two family-run and managed companies share similar values, and are committed to providing a personal, bespoke service to clients.
Kirsty Murphy, group managing director of 51 North Group, said, “EAS will now be part of the 51 North Group. Our management strengths are complementary, and importantly there are no duplications of job roles.”
The chairman and founder of EAS, Peter Turner, will remain involved and serve as 51 North Group’s group board director, with daughter Kirstie and son James staying in their respective roles. Turner said, “I am delighted to have joined forces with 51 North. With this group we have certainly found the right team to take the business to a new level and a sound financial platform. I look forward to continuing as the chairman of EAS and assisting with the new aircraft arrivals and acquisitions.”
Co-founder and group chairman of 51 North, Neil Cochrane, whose daughter, Lorna, also works at the company, added, “The corporate jet industry has become very fragmented, and the only way forward is the consolidation of compatible companies. We have wanted to make the right acquisition for some time and, together with the EAS team, are looking forward to exciting developments ahead.”
