RUAG Aviation, a provider of customized cabin interior solutions for business and private jets worldwide, has teamed up with luxury German watchmaker Moritz Grossmann to develop a timepiece exclusively for aircraft owners. Launching at the Baselworld watch and jewelry exhibition in Switzerland on March 23-30, 2017, the Skylife BENU Tourbillon brings together the finest materials and craftsmanship from the two companies.
Features of the watch include a large Grossmann three-minute tourbillon with a patent-pending stop-seconds mechanism sat inside a 16mm cage, a solid silver face with two offset auxiliary dials showing the seconds and hours, plus a scale in between ranging from 25 to 35, so that the minute hand can still point to the relevant numbers at its longer end as it crosses the tourbillon cage. A range of color combinations are available.
Pirmin Berger, marketing and communication director, RUAG Aviation, said, “We are delighted to have created this master timepiece with Moritz Grossmann. The Skylife BENU Tourbillon epitomizes handcrafted elegance. It is the expression of the unique quality of life we enjoy – when we feel at home while travelling through the skies.”
Christine Hutter, founder and CEO, Moritz Grossmann, added, “The Skylife watch is a starting project both for RUAG and Moritz Grossmann. Specialists from both companies are sharing ideas and suggestions, and the collaboration is yielding an outstanding experience for future watch owners.”
