Signature Flight Support has launched the Signature Renew Book & Claim program at NBAA-BACE 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Renew Book & Claim gives private aircraft operators the flexibility to purchase the carbon reductions created by sustainable aviation fuel regardless of physical availability. This allows operators to claim offset credit for SAF at any airport using any FBO.Β
Signature Renew Book & Claim leverages Signatureβs expanding network of physical SAF supply points, which now totals sevenΒ locations. The carbon reduction is made available for bulk purchase similarly to carbon offsets; however, the environmental impact represents actual fuel consumed by aircraft, unlike other speculative environmental projects.Β
βThe launch of Signature Renewβs Book & Claim program further demonstrates Signatureβs commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050,β said Tony Lefebvre, interim chief executive officer, Signature Aviation. βBook & Claim will accelerate the adoption of SAF by providing an alternative mechanism to unlock the carbon reduction benefits of sustainable fuels, resulting in a cleaner environment starting today.β
The introduction of Book & Claim adds another milestone to a year filled with environmentally focused initiatives by Signature, including the completion of its 29th LEED certified construction project at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Intβl Airport, pivoting to the use of biodiesel to power its fuel trucks, and increasing its electric-powered ground service equipment to nearly 10%Β of its entire fleet. Moreover, Signature has now cumulatively uplifted over 4 million gallons of sustainable jet fuel throughout its network since September 2020, accounting for a more than 10,000 tonne CO2 reduction that would have otherwise entered the atmosphere.Β
Signature has also partnered with Airbus to supply sustainable aviation fuel to all new-build A320 series aircraft manufactured at its Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama. All airline deliveries will be powered by a blend of SAF and conventional jet fuel that is supplied in partnership with World Energy.
