Sonoma Jet Center, a fixed base operator (FBO) at Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport (KSTS), has announced its upcoming Green Fuel Day Celebration on April 18, 2024.
In collaboration with Avfuel, Sonoma Jet Center will offer SAF at the same price as conventional jet fuel for one day only, making a bold statement in support of environmental sustainability.
Josh Hochberg, president of Sonoma Aviation said, “Adopting sustainable aviation fuel is a crucial step toward ensuring that future generations inherit a passion for aviation and a cleaner environment. We’re proud to facilitate this transition.”
At the event on April 18, pilots, aviation industry leaders and the community will witness the tangible efforts toward achieving business aviation’s goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The celebration kicks off Sonoma Aviation’s Green Week, featuring sustainability initiatives at both of Sonoma Aviation’s locations—Sonoma Jet Center and Carlsbad Jet Center in Carlsbad, CA (KCRQ).
Since 2021, Sonoma Jet Center has been at the forefront of offering SAF from Avfuel.
SAF is produced from renewable resources and is capable of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%*.
Proudly sourcing SAF from California, with one of the industry’s highest blend ratios, Sonoma Jet Center contributes to a substantial reduction in net carbon emissions with a 19 metric ton decrease per truckload of fuel.
Avfuel is the leading provider of SAF to business aviation operations, including 13 U.S. FBOs, major aircraft manufacturers and corporate flight departments directly.
“Avfuel is proud to partner with fellow leaders in sustainability like Sonoma Aviation,” said David Mittleman, Avfuel’s senior sales manager of the western U.S. “This Green Day Fuel Celebration provides a great opportunity to not only further educate the business aviation community, but the community at large on what SAF is and how it’s helping our industry achieve real, measurable sustainability goals.”
*When used in its neat (unblended) form over the fuel’s life cycle and calculated with established life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies, such as the CORSIA methodology.
