Business aviation services provider Luxaviation Group has published its annual sustainability report.
Luxembourg-headquartered Luxaviation operates helicopter and FBO networks worldwide. The company’s annual 2023 Sustainability Report reflects on Luxaviation’s impact and progress on material environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics, showcasing proactive measures in environmental stewardship, and corporate social responsibility within the aviation industry.
The company is making progressive steps towards reductions in fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from its operations by expanding emissions reporting boundaries, coupled with investments in advanced technologies and the integration of next-generation aircraft.
In what Luxaviation termed a “major move”, the company has initiated the electrification of its FBO Ground Handling Equipment (GHE). This transition to electric GHE minimizes environmental impact and enhances operational efficiency, aligning with the company’s broader sustainability objectives.
ExecuJet, which is part of the Luxaviation Group has electrified 57% of the GHE it aims to electrify by 2030 with its FBO in Paris Le Bourget, the latest to achieve 100% GHE electrification. These efforts have been reinforced by an interim target to achieve 65% GHE across all ExecuJet FBOs by 2027.
Patrick Hansen, CEO of Luxaviation Group said, “The 2023 Sustainability Report for Luxaviation is not just a reflection of our impact and progress but a roadmap for our future. Our commitment goes beyond regulatory compliance, leading by example and inspiring positive change within and beyond the sector.
This year has been transformative, reinforcingour steadfast commitment to sustainability and innovation in aviation. In 2023, we made progressive strides in understanding and thereby reducing our environmental impact. Our expanded use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and the electrification of our ground vehicles have set new industry benchmarks for eco-friendly practices. These initiatives are part of our broader goal to transparently lead the industry towards a more responsible future.”
